Following the Chancellor's Spring Statement at the end of March, in which he outlined the government's new tax plan to support the UK economy in the short term, we wanted to outline how this will affect your Opera 3 Payroll system.
The key measures that impact Opera 3 Payroll include:
• The Employment Allowance increasing by £1,000 from 6 April 2022 to £5,000. (Get in touch with our team or your pegasus supplier if this applies to your company)
• An increase to the National Insurance Primary Threshold for Class 1 NICs and the Lower Profits Limit for Class 4 NICs from 6 July 2022, aligning it with the equivalent income tax personal allowance which is set at £12,570 per annum. (This does not come into force until July - if you are a Minster customer, we will be in touch with you closer to the time to discuss any necessary changes).
